Destination Port Ligar - Waterfall Bay

Wind blew up again last night in Wilson Bay so sleep was interrupted several times throughout the night.  We had a slow start deciding to spend some time fishing for gurnard again. While Robin tried his luck at fishing amongst the mussel farm in Maori Bay with limited success (shark only) the water was still warm so Jo and I decided on.a swim.  After our swim and a hot shower on the boarding platform we headed back north to Port Ligar Waterfall Bay on dusk.  We anchored next to a couple of yachts which looked like they hadn’t moved for some time,  We had a quiet night at anchor and awoke to another nice day.  Robin got the drone up and did a reconnoitre of the area from above.  Robin and I decided to kayak ashore for a closer look and to find the waterfall.  We tied up to the jetty which had power and fresh water - this place is literally the ‘end of the road’, last power pole at the jetty.  It must have been a shopping day in Havelock as nobody was around at all.  We discovered a room full of sea kayaks and a digger in the yard which looked like it had recently cleared a slip on the road leading out and there was a mandatory 4 wheel drive under the portico to handle the gravel roads to civilisation.  We did a shallow paddle around the shoreline discovering  heaps of stingray mooching around in the water about 600mm span unlike the ones at Te Rawa Bay that were under the jetty that were at least 2M across!
