We departed 10:00am on Friday 2nd March as planned. Weather conditions were not ideal for a motor launch with 2M seas and 25knots of wind on our stbd side. We had to reduce speed to 11 knots to have a reasonable ride. Stopped for Lunch at the Hen & Chicken islands where my brother Robin took a break from the helm. We continued to Deep Water Cove in similar conditions with only sailing boats running a similar course. Robin was pleased to see the flat water of the bay as he was not well after the rolling action of the sea. Once there we anchored up for the night with a few other boats. Had a great meal and watched some TV. We would set off early for Mangonui in the morning where we would stay overnight.
